Privacy notice

This notice explains what personal data Atom & Ink collects, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so if something here is unclear, tell us and we will fix the wording.
Children’s data
Most of our authors are under 18. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 we process a child’s personal data only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian, and we do not use children’s data for behavioural advertising or tracking. We do not run advertising on this site at all.
By default a published paper shows a shortened author name only, for example “Aarav S.”. A full name, a photograph or a school name is published only where a guardian has given written consent for that specific item. This is enforced technically: our database rejects an author record flagged to display a photograph unless a consent record exists.
What we collect
- Enquiries. The name, email, phone number and message you send us, plus the grade, school and referral source if you provide them.
- Author records. For students we publish: name, grade, school, city, an optional photograph, and the consent record covering them.
- Technical data. A one-way hash of your IP address, used only to rate limit form submissions. We do not store raw IP addresses.
- Analytics. Aggregate page view data, if analytics is enabled. Advertising features and cross-device signals are switched off.
Who else sees it
Our website is hosted by Vercel and our database is hosted by Supabase, in a data centre in Mumbai. Both process data on our instructions. We do not sell personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for two years and then deleted. Published papers and their author records are kept indefinitely, because a publication record that disappears is not a publication record. You can still ask us to remove or anonymise a specific item, and we will.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw a consent you previously gave. A parent or guardian can do all of this on behalf of a child. Write to yashika.m2020@gmail.com and we will respond within thirty days.
